Tulsa, Oklahoma Man Saves Wife's New Dachshund Puppy From Drowning

It seems like we've got a feel-good story every Friday lately!   This lucky guy wasn't about to let his wife come back from being out of town to tell her that 12-week-old red longhair piebald 'Chester' drowned in the pool.  Someone was watching over this family on Sunday.  Read more at NewsOn6.  And have a great Friday!

We are so happy to hear the little one made it. Accidents happen so fast. We lost our little sister LollyPop on May 30 this year in an accident. She was only 3 yrs old. Now we are 3 little dachies looking for her because we are heart broken but mom says she is at the Rainbow Bridge looking down over us. Shilo, Sass and Miss Maggie from Que. Canada

Thanks Joey and Maggie. LollyPop loved to go for a ride and in her frenzied attempt to go with mom she managed to put her nose through a 1 inch rip in the porch screen and tear it open and ran to the back of car. U know the rest. Mom is now looking into adopting another little rescue (we are all rescues, even the cat). She is not quite 1 yr old and her name is Skyla. Mom says LollyPop would want us to get another rescue to have a 2nd chance. So beware people we dachies can rip open a screen in our attempt to go for a ride with our humans.

Wow that was a close one! Those people either need to show their puppy where the pool stairs are and how to use them, or get a "Skamper ramp" and show him how to use that.

I'm very sorry about LollyPop. We had a dachshund who got out while we were at my grandma's house (he was there with us). It was during the evening, and we were leaving the next morning. I had known him my whole life, and I went to sleep that night not knowing if I'd ever see him again. The next morning, he was sleeping in the bed beside me. The fire department had found him. He died of old age a couple years later. Now, when we go to my grandma's house, our dachshunds don't go outside unattended.
