As seen in The Seattlest, Gentlemen, Start Your Engines, by Grundlepuck.From last Friday's races, the photographer notes: Preparing for the start of the Wiener Dog race at Emerald Downs in Auburn, Washington. Apparently there is a whole Wiener Dog racing subculture of which I was blissfully unaware.
Each dog had one person holding on to it at the starter's gate, and another one at the finish line with a favorite toy or treat to beckon it forward.
