Retro Dachshund Fun: Hazards of the Profession!

Between ring appearances, Professional Handler Woodie Dorward removed his coat for comfort, but he made the mistake of hanging it too near one of the Dachshunds in his van.  Photographer Bill Francis was summoned to capture on film - "Hazards of the Profession!"

via the May, 1973 issue of the American Dachshund magazine.

Funny story about the jacket! I have to admit my first thought was that the dog tried to chew his arm off. ;) Our dachshunds were the "chewiest" dogs we ever had.

J-Man & Rowdy,

Love the story about the jacket! I got a fuzzy toy for Christmas and chewed off all the yellow fuzz. I'd love to rip into a tailored blazer!

Keep on wagging,
Tootsie

Sammy would only do that if the guy's arm squeaked.

"Neither chewing nor gnawing nor exposed elbow will stay this man from his appointed task!" Good on ya, mate!
