The Last Act

If you have a few minutes to spare, don't miss this story by Dr. Melody Heath, DVM, about her struggles to euthanize her own aging Dachshund, red smooth 'Toby.' We don't recommend that you read the article at work. It's available at dvm360, and it's called The Last Act.

I didn't get down to the part about not reading at work until it was too late. Heartbreaking, but so touching. I can't wait to get home and love all over both my dogs.

Lovely writing. She didn't severe the bond though - she forged a stronger one to last 'til she meets Toby again at the Rainbow Bridge.
