You can lead a Dachshund to his potty spot, but you can't make him go.
Joey says "Hey thanks Dad for spending an hour to clear out a path and spot for me to potty after the blizzard, but you better think again if you really think I'm gonna go here. Are you crazy? You know it's not my regular spot." It's a battle of wills in Chicago, world headquarters of the Long and Short of it All. Of course Maggie knew exactly what to do - she's good like that. Twenty four hours and no BM for the Joe-meister though. Hopefully soon.
We've got to take a few days off, our Dad's Dad is very ill, but we'll be back some time next week. Keep bundled up in the meantime. And kiss all your Grandmas and Grandpas.
Yours in Dachshund Love,
Joey and Maggie.....

Sending lots of dachie wet kisses and hugs and healing vibes for your grandpa.
Hey, Joey and Maggie, your yard looks just like ours now (snow up to mom's butt, bark, bark))so she digs us a path too all winter long. Try play submarine and tunnel under the snow, our Maggie loves that and finds chunks of ice to bring in to mom as a gift. have a safe journey to visit grand-dad. your pals from Quebec, Canada

Your Joey sounds like my Baron, I can easily see him giving me the same "are you kidding" look! Regret but I have no Dad or Dad's Dad to hug and kiss! But am certainly thinking of yours and hope all will be well with him! Take care of yourself and be safe!
Hope everybody is better too. Max is also been are you kidding? Unfortunately since he can't hold it like he used to he's been going in the house! :-( I don't want to do doggie diapers but that may be our next step if I can't get him to use a newspaper in the kitchen.
Best get well wishes to Dad's Dad!
Good girl Maggie! Joey has the same face that Oskar has under the circumstances...'as if!"
Get well soon Dad's Dad, and you will get used to the snow, I did.
Bismarch and Lex
All our "Dad" love is coming your way!
I even bought one of those little red fire hydrants trted with secret scent to attract puppers to tinkle - fat lot of good THAT did! It sits in my bathroom about five feet from where EVERYBODY pees!
E.B. White said it best: "I would rather train a striped zebra to balance on an Indian club than induce a dachshund to heed my slightest command."
Sorry to hear about your Dad's dad...our thoughts are with you!
We hope that Grandpa recovers from his illness and that Joey gets "moving" so that he can get his wag back.

Hope your Daddy gets to feeling better asap!!!
Our love and prayers are being sent for Carson's Dad, and comfort and peace of mind for Carson. Healing thoughts are surrounding you, and we will look forward to hearing that things are better. Joey - please listen to your Dad and go out and do your business - that will give your Dad one less thing to worry about! With Kind regards, Jayne and Annie
