Thanks to our pals 'Sampson,' 'Tommy Lee,' and 'Gina Marie' for sending us this great St. Patrick's Day card!  The green flap opens to reveal the greeting:  Everybody's Irish on St. Patrick's Day!  We'll say.  Even us little German Dachshunds enjoy a little wearin' o' the green once in a while.  Is it beer o'clock yet?

Dachshunds Let It All Hang Out For St. Patrick's Day

We hope you are all recovering after a big weekend for Dachshunds and their humans!  Who says Germans can't be Irish?   Above, our pal 'Honey' delighted party-goers everywhere she went with her Wearin' O' the Green.  Make sure and keep up with Honey over at flickr in Honey in 2012!

Meanwhile, the Buffalo Dachshund Club out of Buffalo, New York, marched in the local St. Patrick's Day Parade yesterday.  Catch all the photos at their meetup site.

Dachshunds Celebrate St. Patrick's Day

Well, we certainly hope that all you Dachshunds got out of the house this weekend to celebrate St. Patrick's Day.  We did!  We went to a local Dachshund meetup yesterday and drank green beer with about 50 other Dachshunds.  What a great time!  Above, this red longhair was one of about a dozen Dachshunds from the Buffalo Dachshund Club who marched behind a "wiener wagon" at the St. Pat’s parade in Buffalo, New York yesterday.  Way to show that Dachshund Pride!  Photo Source.

Never Ending Wiener Races: On 3/15, wiener dogs by the names of Bill Cosby, Ferfie, Frieda, Jack Black, Penny Lane, Ramen, Roxy Harbert, Tootsie, Truffle and dozens others participated in a race to the death: The Old World Village's St. Patrick's Day Dachshund Races in Huntington Beach, California! Beer flowed aplenty (at $7/cup!), and bratwurst was readily available. Next races are scheduled for Apr. 19, May 17, June 21, July 12, Aug. 23 and every Sunday Sept. 6 through Nov. 1 (Oktoberfest).
