A Note From Joey and Maggie: Dachshunds Bark in the Park!
Your Long and Short of it All hosts, Joey and Maggie, joined a team of Dachshunds: Hot Dogs - Chicago Style, to raise money from their family, friends, and co-workers to support Chicago's Anti-Cruelty Society in a 5K walk along Chicago's lakefront on Saturday. We're awful proud to report that the team of wiener dogs and friends raised over $12,500 for the great organization, which was founded in 1899, is completely donor supported, and helps over 50,000 animals and humans each year.
Hot Dogs - Chicago Style won the team challenge for the 3rd year in a row - a threepeat - bringing their total donations to over $40,000 in the last 3 years.
It was a beautiful day, and there were over 3,000 dogs in attendance. That's a lot of butts to sniff. Enjoy the photos! Here's a direct link to them at flickr. We're still exhausted from the big day.
