Hundreds Show Up in Virginia Beach, VA, to See Rescued Dogs

This was the scene yesterday when hundreds of dog lovers showed up at the Virginia Beach SPCA to look at adopting one of the 1,000 dogs (mostly dachshunds) rescued from Whispering Oaks Kennel in Parkersburg, WV, a few weeks ago. Excerpt from MyFox Hamptonroads: So many people showed up for the adopt-a-thon, SPCA officials could only allow small groups in at a time. MyFox Hampton Roads learned anyone who wants a rescued dog has to fill out a form and then put their name on a request list for no more than two dogs.
After that, it's up to SPCA officials to decide who's the best fit for each dog.
Organizers prepared hundreds in line for 23 dogs rescued from a West Virginia puppy mill.
