Meet beautiful 'Sylar,' a dachshund with albinism. What a beautiful boy, and after watching the video, we see that he's a true dachshund in every sense of the word. Thanks to youtuber Snowbeatle for sharing his story with us: this is my boy and this is his video.he is a total albino dog. no color pigments i mean! he's so unique in every sense! Those are his pics from the first day he came to his home till his 1. birthday. have fun with him! :)
Update: Sylar's human writes: i really would like to meet him to the world and made this video. he is carrying all the characteristics of a normal dachshund, being albino doesn't change anything. but there is a problem. people think that albino dogs are evil and they don't even recognize sylar as a dog. i would love to publish sylar in a magazine. if it is possible, can you please help me about breaking this bad superstition?
thanks for your attention.
Nihan
Trust us Nihan. Sylar is 100% dog and dachshund. It doesn't matter what people think or say about him, we know that you love him for the wonderful boy that he is. And Evil? People with such talk are just jealous of his cute pink nose. Sylar is ABSOLUTELY HEAVENLY!

He is a really cute dachshund.. I would be curious to see his future health outcomes. Many of these dachshunds because of their albinism have health problems which include deafness, visual defects and skin disorders. If he has none, your are really fortunate. I would have him evaluated to be sure and would not breed him if he has any of these problems.
Sylar is your white knight in shining armor. You are blessed to have this special boy.
What an adorable guy! Definitely not evil at all.
We're curious about the song used for the video - it was really cool!
Sylar doesn't look evil at all! He's gorgeous and unique.

OMG he is a doll!!!!
I wouldn't say that people think that albino dogs are evil but they are probably aware of the health problems associated with them. Albino dogs are the result of extremely poor breeding practices and should not exist, not because they aren't sweet dogs, but because it means that someone has abandoned their responsibilities as a breeder and has attempted to breed an animal simply for looks/colour instead of bettering the breed. Albino dachshunds come from breeding a dapple to a dapple, a double dapple to a dapple, or a double dapple to a double dapple. It is not unusual for three out of four puppies in a litter like that to be killed because of missing limbs or eyes, horrible heart defects, or other tragic problems. If you got lucky and all that Sylar has is a colour variation, then that's awesome, but he should never be bred and other people should not try to duplicate his "condition".
hi there!
its me again. sylars human. sylar met lots of veterinarians who wants to analyze his health. his health depends on our attention about his foods and sun protection. but thats all! he's not a product of a poor breeding at all. his pedigree tells us that is mom and dad both are brown and we've meet up with them. they're also cute! :) maybe sometimes albinism is an illness but sylar came up just by chance! and ummm.. he has doxie girl fans too! 5 from the district and 3 from abroad. they wait him to mature! :))
Hi, My sister and I have a dapple albino Dachsund named Wishbone. We rescued him from a local animal shelter. He has one blue eye and one brown. He is a special little dog. We adore him. Sylar is beautiful.
I'm in love !!!!
I think Sylar is gorgeous, i would be proud to be his human. I have 3 dachshunds(or they have me) 2 of them are girls and i am sure they would be in love with sylar
HI I am Paula, from Brazil.I have a albino Dachshund too. Your dog are so cute. I can send you a picture if you want...
Kisses
Paula
True albinos have pink eyes, not blue/white. Any dachshund that has one or both blue eyes is a dapple, that's the only way a dachshund can have blue eyes. Your boy is either an extreme piebald (I have one, she has a pink/chocolate nose but she's not dapple) or a double dapple. He could even be a double dapple piebald, but he's not albino (he would have pink eyes). His nose is because he is either chocolate based or isabella based. :)
And FYI, albino anything is not due to irresponsible breeders. Albino is a genetic mutation that occurs very rarely but at random. It has nothing to do with the breeder whatsoever.
OMG!I been wanting to be in contact with someone with a white/ or Albino Dachshund. You would be of so much help. Please contact me!
Thanks,
Antonio
