The Gift Of Dachshund

Carlene Akins, seated, and her mother, Annette Cole (second from left), were thrilled when Stephanie Spinks (far right) presented the family with their new dog 'Cocoa' last week. Akins’ toy poodle was stolen recently from the family’s yard in Tifton, Georgia, and a group of people adopted Cocoa from the Tifton-Tift County Animal Shelter and gave him to Akins, who has cerebral palsy and is in a wheelchair.
While giving a dog as a gift may not always be the best idea, we can tell by the smile on this happy chocolate smooth mix that this is a match made in heaven.  Welcome home Cocoa!
Don't miss the whole heartwarming story at the Tifton Gazette.
