'The Long and Short of it All' Turns Two Years Old

It's our anniversary.....Second, to be exact. We never thought that we would still be writing about Dachshunds in the news and popular culture two years after our very first post on Monday, May 28th, 2007. We always felt there was a need for daily Dachshund news on the net when we started, a place where Dachshund Lovers can come together and see what makes us laugh - and cry - all in the name of these wonderful dogs that fulfill our lives. A place where there are no ads, no agendas - but simply a place to sit back and relax with your Dachshund on your lap just to read fantastic stories, see famous dachshunds, and look at beautiful photos, videos, history, and art of the Dachshund. Over a thousand posts later, we hope we've achieved at least some success in that endeavor.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for sticking with us over the last few years, we wouldn't do it without our wonderful readers, commentors, and contributors. You've made it a real community; we've made some great friends, and we thank you very much.

Yours in Dachshund Love,
Joey and Maggie....

  2. I echo Ruby & Penny. I have a short list of URLs to check every day, and your blog ranks right up there with The New York Times (since they don't have all the dachshund news that's fit to print.)

  16. Happy Happy Anniversary Long and Short. Congrats to you, Joey and Maggie. You have worked so very hard, very hard. You have done it all for the love of Dachshunds. I wish there was some award to give you. Know how much we all love and appreciate what you do.

I have been away from the computer for a week and everyday thoughts of TLAS would enter my head. The only good thing about not seeing it daily is getting to read all of that in one time. You are more than generous with your posts. You could post one a day and still have an audience.

I am going to guess that you have also made a financial commitment. Probably in computer equipment, as this has gotten bigger and bigger. I do hope you have good backup

I hope you are willing to keep going. It is a tremendous personal commitment you have made. You give of yourself thoughtlessly. I think you are the #1 Dachshund Daddy in the world. We are so lucky to have you.

Thank you for 2 wonderful years. How neat to hear from overseas. I remember the last anniversary. Where did the second year go so fast??
