Dachshunds in Sports: Detroit Lions' Nick Harris

Huh? Nick Harris (born July 23, 1978 in Phoenix, Arizona) is an American football punter currently playing for the Detroit Lions. He played college football at the University of California, Berkeley where he set the NCAA record for career punting yardage. And oh yeah, he's a dachshund lover. Above, his children Drew Harris, age 1, and Halle Harris, age 2, pose with their 5-yr-old miniature dachshund 'Limo' for the 2009 Detroit Lions Pet Calendar, with all proceeds to benefit Friends For the Dearborn Animal Shelter. You can see more pics of Harris' and his family, and buy the calendar at the Dearborn Animal Shelter.

Find out more about Nick Harris in a nice little Q&A at mlive.com.

Q: Any pets?
A: A wiener dog, a little dachshund, named Limo. She's long and black like a limousine.
