We sure feel for some of the residents of Houston, Texas, where recent rainfall has produced the city's most significant flooding in more than two years, prompting rescues from flooded homes and vehicles.
Local resident Jason Craig has his priorities right, seen here pulling his red smooth 'Simon' in an ice chest along Pinebelt Drive in their flooded Cypress neighborhood.

This brings to mind memories of Hurricaine Katrina. A lady was begging for help for someone/anyone to go & rescue her grandfather who was trapped in his house. S. Penn, the news crew & the lady pulled up to the house - the man refused to leave. They begged him to. The source of his concern? His dachshund. (My friend & I watching in CA were in total agreement with the gentlemen - the duo had to be saved) The boatload of rescuers assured him, "Yes. Yes. Do bring your friend." Man & dog got into the boat and a tearful reunion ensued. Doesn't the word "ark" rhyme with "bark?" I can take the hint! :) Thank you for sharing this wonderful picture.
ReplyDeleteAh too sweet :) Love it when I see men completely ga ga over their Doxies :) Like my husband!
ReplyDeleteYes, my doggy-daddy spent a whole day building a little ramp of the finest hardwoods, complete with astroturf so they could walk in and out the back door without jumping up the step and compromising their fragile little longdog backs. And now, they make sure they squeeze in between the ramp and the door frame so they completely avoid ever having to use the fabulous ramp. It's the thought that counts!
