Not sure if I read this on this dachshund blog but a man from Munich wrote in that the standard Dakels (as they call them) are very large and were the original badger hunters in Germany.
I did find the German man's comments from Munich on this blog "Giant Dachshunds" April 16,2008. I also found pics of other Giant Dachshunds and other people's comments on this blog who own giant dachshunds. Cool that they do exist!!!
okay, I know people were generally smaller back then, but still, that is one big n tall wiener dog!! :)
