(Sitting on Dad's Lap, Looking Out on the Boulevard)
Joey took a bit of a tumble out of the big bed last night when he jumped down to get a drink of water without using the doggie stairs. His front right leg is hurting pretty bad, but he's on an herbal pain med and spent the day with good Dachshund friends while Dad was at work. If it's still hurting tomorrow, a visit to the vet is in order.
There's nothing worse than when they are in pain, no matter how small or great.
Joey, so sorry to hear you are hurt! I sure understand. I do the same thing, and get scolded. I keep forgetting that jumping off the bed equals pain. Sure home you feel better soon. My lady has a heating pad for me when my back is hurting. Take it easy and you'll be okay! No more jumping off the bed!
ReplyDeletePoor Joey, I really hope he is ok.
ReplyDeleteLovely blog, I enjoy finding my way round it and always find new things to read.
Joey,
ReplyDeleteHope you heal quickly.
Your friends, Jerry, Kay and Clancy
Thanks a bunch. Joey seems to be feeling better today - he looks much more alert. Yesterday he was hunched over, ears down, tail between his legs, totally unlike him. He was still hungry though, so that was good. Today he looks much brighter, and while he's still limping, he should be as good as new in a few days. If he's still limping Monday, then he'll visit Mr. Veterinarian.
ReplyDeleteHi Joey, hope your leg gets better soon!
ReplyDeleteSounds likes he's on the mend. Hope he gets back to 100% very soon! Sending him good healing vibes!

Joey! Wishing you a very speedy recovery and don't jump off that tall bed in the middle of the night, anymore!
ReplyDeleteHeal fast!
Adam, and Joey the longhaired dachshund
Get better Joey! We miss you!

Oh Joey! I hope you are better! From your friend in Virginia, Molly in McLean
ReplyDeletehey so is Joey feelin better now? Wagging tails want to know! :)
ReplyDeleteThanks for asking Baxter, and everyone - Joey is doing great, can't see that he's having any issues at all. Stopped his herbal pain meds about a week after the incident. Am working on getting a ramp for the bed instead of the stairs - but in the meantime, no more big bed for Joey and Maggie for about 2 weeks now.
ReplyDeleteThey've actually adjusted quite well to sleeping in their own bed on the floor. But come wintertime, someone's gonna need some warm Dachshunds in the bed.
