'The Long and Short of it All' Turns Three Years Old

It's our anniversary - third to be exact!  Who knew we would still be blogging about Dachshund news, art, history, and popular culture three years after our very first post on Monday, May 28th, 2007?! 
Every year as we reach this milestone we tell ourselves that this is the time we are going to stop blogging - what else can be said that hasn't been said, what news story can be posted which isn't similar to something which has already happened, do we even have any more Dachshund jokes left to share?  But as diverse as our lovable Dachshund companions themselves, the stories continue to be amazing - whether outrageous, hilarious, heartbreaking, or just lovable - all thanks to the beautiful dogs who fill our lives with joy every single day.
Thank you to all our loyal readers, commentors, and contributors - we couldn't do it without you.  We've made some real friends in this community, and we hope you have too.  So as our little stubby paws frantically finish typing post # 1,879, we thank you from the bottom of our hearts for sticking with us over the years.

    Hi Joey and Maggie, Congratulations! My mom reads your blog every day. She says it's the best dachshund blog ever. Most times she laughs and smiles, but every once in a while she cries when there's a sad story. Please don't stop. There would be so many disapppointed dachshund people.
