Our hearts go out to Margo Mosswood, Director of Dachshund Rescue NW and the Dachshund Club of Spokane, Washington, and all of their friends and supporters. An electrical fire started in the garage yesterday morning, killing seven Dachshunds housed there. However, sixteen Dachshunds and two cats were rescued from the home. Mrs. Mosswood has operated the rescue for 17 years, placing 69 dogs this year alone. Their home has suffered substantial damage. Thanks everyone. We are taking one day at a time and working to rebuild here so we can get open once again and start rescuing. Home will mostly need to be rebuilt so until we get a home the rescue is closed for a while.
