Oh Westminster, So Much To Answer For

We're really not surprised that a Dachshund didn't take the Hounds, why should anything ever change? Why should a Dachshund ever take a Westminster Best In Show? Above, miniature wire-haired 'Archie,' takes a rest backstage at Madison Square Garden during the Westminster Kennel Club dog show in New York on Monday, Feb. 9, 2009. Source.

A huge congrats to the breed winners though! It's hard work to look so beautiful, and longhair 'Jessie,' smooth 'Natalie,' and wirehair 'Kate' gave it their best to take their Best of Breed. Way to go!

  1. The longhaired dachshund took Group in 1998. Pramada's Curmudgeon aka Ben was an awesome pup - and he's pictures at the top of the Westminster "Group History" page. Just didn't want anyone to think us dachsies have never had a day in the sun.
