It seems so trite for us to post a vintage photo of a young African American with his dachshund buddy on the eve of Barack Obama's Presidential Inauguration, but there you have it. This is a dachshund blog after all, and sadly we can count on one paw the photos we've posted of dachshunds with their beloved African American humans. Is it OK to even type this out?
All we can hope is that the dawn of a new age is here, and that Obama's words, and ultimately his leadership skills, ring true for generations to come:
There is not a liberal America and a conservative America - there is the United States of America. There is not a Black America and a White America and Latino America and Asian America - there's the United States of America. - Barack Obama
Enjoy your Martin Luther King, Jr. Holiday.
That dachshund is longer than the boy is tall.
ReplyDeletePerfect picture for today!
ReplyDeleteYes, may this be the dawn of a new day for generations to come. It will be hard work to overcome this mess but with strong leadership and hard work, there will be bones in everyones bowls :)
It looks like this dachshund knows what everyone should have known all along. All humans deserve love and respect.
ReplyDeleteThat's a great picture!
